Officer Kevin Weeks died early Thursday after his motorcycle hit a stack of construction material on a closed onramp to the Loop 1-0-1 freeway. Read the full story. 10/19/2006 Oakland Police Officer Injured In Crash - Oakland, CA An Oakland police motorcycle officer suffered minor injuries Thursday after being struck by a driver who made a U-turn, possibly illegally, according to police spokesman Roland Holmgren. Holmgren said the incident occurred at the intersection of 29th Street and Telegraph Avenue sometime at about noon.
